Meet Landy

Landy Watley a self-declared “bridge builder,” using storytelling to amplify voices, drive change, and foster lasting relationships to improve communities and institutions. With a strong background in program development, stakeholder collaboration, and outreach, Landy specializes in building relationships that empower communities and create lasting impact.

Landy’s work spans across the public and nonprofit sectors, where she’s successfully led high-profile initiatives, developed innovative outreach strategies, and championed programs that enhance accessibility and inclusivity. Whether facilitating workshops, managing grant-making processes, or collaborating with federal agencies and cultural organizations, she is committed to bridging gaps, amplifying voices, and ensuring that resources reach those who need them most.

As an Outreach Program Officer at the National Endowment for the Humanities, Landy is helping to rethink the way the agency approaches outreach and engagement with HBCUs by creating culturally resonate, story-centered opportunities to connect. Through her experience with the National Endowment for the Humanities, academia, and cultural foundations, she’s honed her ability to design programs that strengthen institutional capacity, engage diverse stakeholders, and inspire action.

When she’s not working, Landy loves traveling, reading, and spending time with the people who pour into her. Her favorite quote, right now, is “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”-James Baldwin.
