Amplifying Voices, Connecting Communities

Amplifying Voices, Connecting Communities

It all started with a party . . .

When I was in seventh grade, I asked my father if I could host a Christmas party. He agreed—on one condition: every guest had to bring a gift to donate. I eagerly accepted, and together, we delivered the gifts to a local women’s shelter. That simple act of generosity ignited a lifelong passion for bringing people and institutions together to solve problems and drive meaningful change.

Throughout my career, I’ve carried this passion forward, connecting people for impact across diverse settings. From collaborating with nonprofits to curate writing workshops for youth to using storytelling as a tool for bridging divides, I’ve seen firsthand how mission-driven outreach fosters innovation, creativity, and stronger, more resilient communities.

I believe partnerships can illuminate the path to a better future—but first, we must shift the narratives that sustain inequity. Stories have the power to dehumanize and divide, but they also have the potential to empower and unite. With a background in English, I’ve honed my ability to understand people’s needs, articulate shared values, and foster empathy. By leveraging both likely and unlikely alliances, I help turn conversations into collaboration and ideas into action.

  • Dr. Watley presented to our Rotary club on short notice. After a 20-30 minute conversation with me she was able to identify key subject matter. She presented in a positive manner and got the conversation going amongst our group on focusing efforts towards positive growth in targeted areas.

  • Landy organized and facilitated an effective networking program for our alumni and graduate students as part of the HBCU Doctoral Career Pathways Conference. The event was lively, engaging and very productive for everyone and we hope to take the model and replicate for the next conference.
